SHFiguarts - NAIL (네일)

This is the only figure in recent years that I tried to pre-order but failed to secure through Bandai Mall, ending up ordering from a general shop—and my Nail figure has finally arrived. Because I paid a little extra to get it, even though he's not my absolute favorite character, I found myself eagerly anticipating its arrival.

I think for the Dragon Ball line now, arguing whether the figure is faithful to the source material or not is pointless. Every release seems to have a satisfying sculpt. While there have been occasional complaints about the function, such as the range of motion or joint strength, the sculpt itself is always on point.

When changing the costume, don't get greedy; make sure you follow the manual and disassemble the entire arm first. I had a feeling that if I rushed it, something might snap.

I would have been more satisfied if it had been released with four fingers to match the comic book version, but since the original Piccolo figure was released with five, that's probably a meaningless hope.

 

The effect part that recreates his lizard-like traits is released in clear plastic and the quality is considerable. However, in my case, it was extremely difficult to separate. I even brought out the hairdryer but failed. I considered forcing it, but as a figure collector, the mindset should be to avoid getting greedy in these situations, haha.

Since this is a Tamashii Web Exclusive, I don't have the financial means to buy several for display, so I probably won't use them again, but the fact that it includes a variety of face expressions that are fun to play with is definitely a plus.

Due to the unique features like the length of his pants and the fully exposed upper body, this is essentially a new sculpt. I feel bad for suspecting, "This is an easy character for Bandai to reuse, they must be loving this."

When the large Guru figure arrives in February next year, I won't have anywhere to put him. That's how complete the Namek Saga line is becoming. It really feels like Bandai is paying a lot of attention to Dragon Ball. I hope they continue to maintain at least this level of interest going forward...
